In this series of collaged mixed-media paintings on paper mounted on a panel, I revisit and expand upon my earlier States of Mind Series (1991-95), in which I used the grid to depict everyday objects and scenes, such as doorknobs, chairs, teapots, or windows reflecting my thoughts, perceptions, and memories. Often opening the grid for images to enter a neighboring section.
Sited in my studio and featuring artmaking tools, this new series explores the ways in which memories are altered each time you revisit them, filtered through my thoughts, feelings, and perceptions of the world around me.
